Family and Peer Support
- A fellowship of individuals who share their experience, strength and hope with each other that they may solve their common problem and help others to recover from alcoholism.
- Providing the opportunity to connect with peers and family members who are also navigating mental health challenges within their families. Our trained peer supporters, who have their own personal experiences, offer support through online peer support groups designed for families. Family to us is what family is to you. Online Family Peer Support Groups are free to join. Thursdays (7:00 – 9:00 p.m.) and Wednesdays (6:00 -8:00 p.m.), Eastern Time.
Community Addictions Peer Support Association (CAPSA):
- All People All Pathways, regular peer group meetings to provide a safe and aware environment for those people questioning their relationship with substances.
Families for Addiction Recovery (FAR):
- FAR is a national charity founded by parents of children who have struggled with addictions from their teens. Our goal is long term recovery for those with addictions and their families. We offer parent-to-parent support for families struggling with addictions.
Institute for Advancements in Mental Health (IAM):
- Delusional Thinking Workshop: Two virtual workshops that explore how caregivers can support their family members who are experiencing delusional thinking. These online, 2-hour interactive sessions will help caregivers gain a deeper understanding into what delusions are, why they are so powerful, and how caregivers can use a CBTp informed approach to help their family member cope more effectively with delusions.
- Hearing Voices Workshop: Two virtual workshops that explore how caregivers can support their family members who are hearing voices due to psychosis. These online, 2-hour interactive sessions will help caregivers gain a deeper understanding into the context of hearing voices others can’t, contributing factors that help or harm a voice hearer’s experience of their voices, and how to use a CBT-p informed approach to communicate and support someone in their voice hearing.
- One-to-one support - Support Line - Staffed by a team of mental health counselors who provide individualized supportive counseling, system navigation, and customized information and education to caregivers, individuals living with chronic mental illness, and the community as a whole.
- Strengthening Families Together (SFT) Program - 4 session family education group covers challenges facing families, handling stress and anxiety, practical strategies around communication, and coping with daily living including; scheduling daily activities, motivation, wellness and crisis planning, and caregiver well-being.
- A community-based organization where members learn from one another how to recover from the effects of addictions.
- A non-profit family support organization for parents and caregivers whose children to age 24 are dealing with mental health and/or addiction challenges.
- A not-for-profit organization with a self-help program for people having difficulties with substance use health.

Adopt4Life Older Parents and Caregivers of Adults with FASD:
- Are you aged 50+ and the parent/caregiver, kin, or customary caregiver to an adult aged 18+ who has or may have FASD? This monthly support and education group addresses unique issues often experienced by this age group

Community Addictions Peer Support Association (CAPSA):
- All People All Pathways, regular peer group meetings to provide a safe and aware environment for those people questioning their relationship with substances.
- The Farmer Wellness Initiative provides Ontario farmers, farm families, farm employees, and spouses and dependents of farm employees with free, unlimited mental health counselling, specific to the unique challenges that can be experienced by the agricultural community. Operated by Telus Health, available 24/7, 365 days a year in English and French.
- The “have THAT talk” series was developed to raise awareness about the importance of mental health in all areas of our lives. Everyone can take action to promote mental health where we live, work and play. Check out these videos and activity guides to learn how you can take action to reduce stigma, increase support, and encourage people to get help sooner.

- Recovery in Action (RIA) Program - 5-week CBT-p-informed group program for people with lived experience of psychosis, aims to build skills, and provide individuals with the supports they need to navigate and personalize their recovery.
- Provides free comprehensive and effective online services and programs. Based in Australia, services can help you understand and address your needs through self-guided options including self-assessment and self-help, and are available to users outside of Australia.
- Therapy resources such as CBT worksheets, handouts and audio packs as well as a self-help section with problem areas and related tasks.
- Self-management and recovery training through virtual mutual-support groups, readings, and self-led online program.

- With TruReach, users can expect to find 18 Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) lessons that cover a wide range of topics. The first two lessons introduce the app and provide education on depression and anxiety. Subsequent lessons delve into identifying emotions, thoughts, and "thinking traps." Users will also learn how to develop alternative thoughts, re-rate emotions, and set goals.

- Frontline Wellness offers confidential support for healthcare workers through quick access to a trained mental health professional. They will connect with you and listen. You can share your experiences, receive support, engage in problem-solving, and receive help connecting to other resources or services if needed.
- Confidential support for community and health care workers managing stressors related to crises. The program provides quick access to a trained mental health professional to help you manage your stress and build resiliency and coping skills.

Virtual Walk-in Services
Virtual Addiction Counselling:
- Virtual appointment with an addictions counsellor.
- Serving local youth as a fully integrated one-stop-shop, where youth between the ages of 12 and 25 can address all of their health and wellness needs. Help is available for mental health and addictions. Primary care services are immediately available, along with many more community and social services. The hub also includes peer services and system navigation services, all delivered in a timely and integrated manner from one central hub. No appointment is required.
